The Full Story
About
Hi, we are Lightning & Tsubaki Rescue. It all started in 2022 when we began feeding a feral cat named Shoobin. Soon after, she brought her kitten, Rin, and another cat, Rain, who were trying to survive by eating leftover food from trash bags.
From there, our mission grew. We began feeding multiple feral cat colonies while also focusing on spaying and neutering to help control the population. We take matters into our own hands by working to resocialize even the most extreme feral cats, giving them a chance at safe, loving homes.
We hope to expand our efforts beyond cats and dogs.
Our name comes from two beloved animals, Lightning, our cat, and Tsubaki, our guinea pig, who continue to inspire our work every day.
Looking forward, we aim to extend our impact into broader community-based projects, including support for individuals experiencing homelessness, children in need, food assistance, and library programs.

Mission
Lightning & Tsubaki Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of feral and stray cats through humane feeding programs, spay and neuter initiatives, and compassionate rehabilitation. We work to reduce suffering by stabilizing feral colonies, socializing extreme feral cats when possible, and finding safe, loving homes for those in need. We are committed to expanding our care into broader community support efforts that uplift both animals and people.
Vision
Our vision is a world where no animal is left to suffer on the streets, where feral populations are humanely managed, and where every rescued animal has the opportunity for safety, trust, and a forever home. We also envision growing into a community-centered organization that supports vulnerable populations through food access, education, and outreach programs, building a kinder and more compassionate world for all.
